A great opportunity to meet fellow Skalleagues from around Thailand in Phuket for the Skal Thailand Congress 2022: 11 – 13th June.

After a successful event on the 26th of May in Chiang Mai, Skal International Thailand has the privilege to bring the sustainable team to Phuket for our fun and informative weekend.

The program for this two-day event is designed around the theme Profit with Principles: Putting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) to Work for Our Future, Your Business and a Prosperous Tourism Recovery. At this interactive session, you will learn more about the UN SDG’s, market demand for sustainable tourism as our industry recovers from COVID, and tips on how to get started with a systematic approach to raising your company’s sustainability performance.

Our team and speakers around sustainability are:

Peter brings over 20 years of hands-on experience, working at the crossroads of tourism and sustainability, with private, public and civil sectors. Skills include project management, tourism partnership and standards facilitation, product development and marketing. Peter lives with his family in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

He is fluent in written and spoken Thai and works with senior clients in government and private sectors on strategy, marketing, and organizational change. He has been working in tourism, wellness, medical tourism and in recent years increasingly focusing on integrating sustainability in all his works and projects. He is an advisor at the Chiang Mai University Science & Technology Park and has worked with GIZ, PATA, TAT, TCEB, and other organizations in the tourism and hospitality space.

So far, the team has certified over 50 game facilitators around the world and translated the game into 8 languages, including Thai.

On the second day we will follow the amazing seminar, by some more hands on activities.   Organic farming in small spaces – Mushroom & Microgreen Workshop is the theme and we will join the morning on an organic farm with our Vise-President Khun Kritidech Srabua, who found a way to have your own private Mushroom farm in your backyard in a sustainable way. Learning how to grow your own little organic vegetable garden before joining a delicious lunch in the jungle.

The weekend will not be complete  without having two amazing dinners/parties. Come and join the sunset / cocktail dinner at the Four Point by Sheraton Patong on Saturday and do not miss the big Gala Dinner – Buffet on the amazing beach from the Le Meridien Karon on Sunday.
