Bangkok Airways Inaugural Flight from Bangkok’s Don Muaeng Airport to Koh Samui Lands to a VIP Welcome. Samui welcomes additional direct flights from Bangkok offering an attractively priced alternative for visitors
[Koh Samui, October 29 th , 2303] — SKÅL International Koh Samui, represented by club
president, Ms. Jane Soergel, was honoured to join the President of TAKS [Tourism
Association of Koh Samui] Khun Jo Poolsawadee in officially welcoming the inaugural
Bangkok Airways flight from Bangkok’s Don Muaeng Airport to Koh Samui International
Airport [DMK-USM].
The new service which now operates three times a day on an ATR 72-600 aircraft for up
to 70 passengers, represents a return to Don Muaeng for Bangkok Airways, following
an absence of 17 years after moving its base to Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Welcoming passengers arriving on the inaugural flight PG451, Mr. Poolsawadee was
also joined by senior executives of Bangkok Airways and key tourism partners including: Ms. Somruedee Chitjong, Deputy Governor of TAT for Domestic Marketing;
Ms. Amornrat Kongsawat, Deputy Director of Sales and Acting Executive Vice President
of Marketing, Bangkok Airways Company Limited; Mr. Natchayathorn
Natthasudanijnipa, Director of Samui Airport; Ms. Kanokkittika Kritwutthikorn, Director of
TAT Koh Samui Office; Mr. Arun Kitmahtrakul, Director of Bangkok Hospital Samui;
Director of the Koh Samui Tourism Promotion Association; and staff of TAT, Bangkok
Hospital Samui and related agencies
Commenting on the new service, Jane Soergel said: “We welcome the new flights
which will further enhance the daily airlift from Bangkok to Samui. We are still not back
to pre-2019 times in terms of tourism arrivals and welcome any move by Bangkok
Airways to rebuild our numbers.”
The new service takes 1.35 hours to fly between the two destinations.
